Individual RDI therapy with children can be used alone or in conjunction with other programs. It should always be noted that RDI is a parent based program and children will learn best from you, their parents. Many families use our therapists who are keenly familiar with development and the application of RDI theory to supplement the work they are doing with their children already at home. This type of service will also benefit your child when used alone. Sessions will focus first on the foundations of interaction, coordination with others, flexibility, communication and perspective taking. As your child progresses in these areas, a more specific and detailed look at their individual strengths and weaknesses will take place and objective and goals will be established accordingly. This service may take place at your home or in the center.
